Date Paste & Apple Puree

I tend to make alot of fruit sweetened recipes the main stays of which are bananas,apple puree and date paste so here are the required recipes

Date Paste

500 grams pitted dates
350 mls water

Place both in a pan bring to boil, simmer for 5 minutes. leave to cool and then puree either in a blender or with an immersion blender which is what I use.

Will keep in an airtight container in Fridge for 2 weeks.

Unsweetened apple puree

1kg apples unpeeled
juice of 1 large lemon

chop apples roughly,
add juice from lemon and optional cinnamon to taste bring slowly to simmer then simmer gently until soft, leave to cool then puree roughly with an immersion blender
